Message from Chairman

The idea of founding the Hong Kong International Flute Association (HKIFA) has long been in my mind. The Idea of bringing international flutists and educators to Hong Kong, bridging fellow Hong Kong flutists and students to the world-class recitals, masterclasses and flute pedagogies are our mission.

There are a lot of talented flutists in Hong Kong. However, there is little international exposure to the flute world outside. Annual/biannual conventions, regular flute festivals and competitions are held in China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the rest of the world where numerous great players are invited to share their music, philosophies and secrets on playing the flute to the world.

Sharing good music and knowledge on flute playing is important for the Hong Kong flute community. HKIFA not only would like to share our professional flute education to the flute community and also connecting it to the rest of the big international flute family.
